Reducing Home Tube Feeding Medical Supplies

Reusable Tube Feeding Supplies

Home tube feeding patients use a lot of medical products that are designed for one-time use, generating more waste going to the landfill. Increasingly, caregivers are quite conscious of this and are looking to reduce their plastic footprint.

We had this in mind when we designed the Bolee® Bag. It’s made out of sturdy polyethylene which stands up to multiple uses and being stored filled with nutrition in a refrigerator or freezer.

The Bolee Bag can be reused at least 15 times. At three meals a day that means you will only use 73 Bolee Bags per year versus 365 traditional gravity bags.

The Bolee Bag can hold 375mL, which is the size of a typical tube feeding meal. It would take over six 60mL syringes to deliver that same meal. One Bolee Bag used 15 times replaces filling 93 bolus syringes!

Bolee Bags and Bolink Large Caps are:

  • Environmentally friendly
  • Portable
  • Less messy than bolus syringes
  • Easy to use
  • Covered by insurance if supplied by a DME (HCPCS B4036)
  • Available through Coram, Lincare, Aveanna,PHS and other DMEs.
